Cookie Cutter Sets and Kids Make for a Great Combination for Children’s Birthday Parties

Many children’s birthday parties are changing from the traditional sheet cakes or even the character cutout cakes or cupcakes to sugar cookies in character forms such as cookies made from a Batman cookie cutter, which would be perfect for a young boy’s birthday party.

Children like to feel as if they are part of something, especially something as major as their own birthday party, so allowing them to help with the planning and choices will help empower the birthday child so that they do not feel they are being forced into some type of birthday party the parents want and are instead getting a birthday party they want.

There are hundreds of different styles and types of themed birthday parties because there are dozens of different types of characters from cartoons, such as SpongeBob SquarePants to superheroes like Iron Man and countless movies that lend themselves to different styles of birthday parties.  For example, Star Wars cookie cutters could be used to make dozens of cookies in all the shapes of the Star Wars characters and battleships and then the cookie cutters could be placed on the main table with confetti sprinkled around them as table toppers or decorations for dual-purpose usage that also saves money.

Of course for a little girl’s birthday party, there are countless different styles of unusual cookie cutter sets which may include characters like Hello Kitty, My Little Pony, Barbie, Brats, Polly Pocket, flowers, Disney Princesses and superhero Wonder Woman.

To suppress some of the excitement and excess energy before a birthday party, have children help bake their cookies for the party.  They could take the prepared cookie dough and roll it out and then take the various cookie cutters and cut out exciting cookie shapes. Then, with the help of mom or dad or another adult, place the cookies on a cookie sheet and bake them for the party.  And if using the cookie cutters on the dough is not the most fun part, then icing or using food coloring to paint the cookies surely will be fun. Watching your friends devour the cookies you made with your own two hands is possibly the best part.
