Smoothie Shops Use Internet Presence, Gained More Real-World Customers

Many people go to smoothie shops for healthy smoothies or simply because they taste good and are a refreshing change from the usual mall fair of greasy food, cookies or pretzels.

A smoothie shop is a real-world brick-and-mortar business that needs to have a website in order to bring more customers to the real-world location through the Internet.  Today more people turn to the Internet to look for what they want or need than any other media, including their local phone book or newspapers.  The Internet offers more information than a simple phone number, location and hours of operation.  An Internet website for a smoothie shop could offer information about the smoothies, what they are made of, the ingredients and how they are made, handmade.  Each of these items could be featured in a keyword rich article placed on the smoothie website.

A keyword rich article is an article placed on a smoothie website in order to attract the three major search engines - Google, Yahoo!, and MSN.  These major search engines send out “feelers” in order to find the keywords or keyword phrases and then rank the website according to a special formula.  Keywords or keyword phrases are the words consumers use in the search boxes on the search engines in order to find what they are looking for.  This process of finding the keywords by the major search engines is known as search engine optimization or SEO.  Search engine optimization is a free and automatic service to all businesses with websites on the Internet there for a smoothies shop competition is also vying for the top spot on the search engines webpages.

Having a high ranking on the search engine webpages is advantageous for a smoothie company because the majority of people who use search agents choose which company they are going to do business with from the first one to five websites that search engines bring back on their webpage listings.  Many people feel that the first few listings on the search engines are the most popular and therefore must be the best; however this is not always the case. It may be simply a case of these first few websites using more keyword rich articles on their website than the other website listings.

Many smoothie shops are located in malls; however there are other locations that would bring in more targeted customers such as setting up near a gym or YMCA where people work out and would enjoy a cool refreshing smoothie at the end of their work out or near the beach were smoothie shop could give away suntan lotion after people purchase so many smoothies with a punch card to keep them coming back.
