I was really surprised when I recently visited Vegas, to find out that professional poker players have managers. I had never really thought about them in the same league as other sportsmen but of course if they are winning top competitions and very popular within their sport, then they will need a manager to help them out. It seems that poker player managers sort out their sponsorship deals and basically help the players to earn more money. It sounds like a great idea, as long as they make sure that you earn more money than you pay them! Don’t you just love the idea of being professional poker player management and being able to work with someone who plays card games for a living! It is amazing that someone can make so much money just from messing around with a few pieces of cardboard! I do like playing myself but I would never consider it to be a good career move, but I guess that if you are good enough to earn what the top players earn, then it probably would be a great career choice!
