Cancer Treatment Center Helps Patients with Diagnostics, Treatments, Education
Today, cancer is the second leading cause of death for adults and could soon over take the number one spot of heart disease if a cure is not found in the next couple of years.
A cancer treatment center could also be the epicenter for cancer studies and diagnostic research that are needed to help combat this growing disease that affects millions of people – men, women and children – each year.
Unfortunately, many ethic and minority groups experience a disproportionately high rate of deaths due to cancer and this problem needs to change. The change could come in the form of more research and of course, a cure for some, if not all, cancers.
A breast cancer hospital may have made amazing strides in the technology that is helping to treat breast cancer in addition to other women’s cancers such as cervical cancer, but there is still no cure. These hospitals are important to the treatment and well-being of the patients they treat and more funding is needed to help them reach their goal of a cancer-free world.
Many of the cancer hospitals are self sustaining and rely on donations and grants to get them through each year and help them pay for the excellent care they give the thousands of patients they see each month.
There are over 100 different cancers that researchers have located in the human body and they are broken down into 14 different categories: gland; cartilage; red blood cells; white blood cells; liver; fat; blood vessels; pigment cells; muscles; bones; bone marrow; bladder; eye and brain. There are several cancers that garner all the attention while others receive none of the media’s light. Cancers such as men’s breast cancer, gall bladder cancer, nasal or sinus cancer or salivary gland cancer are just a few of those that need more research to help the thousands suffering each day.
Cancer treatment programs are able to continue doing good work because of the dedication and commitment of the oncology doctors and nurses who know what it’s like to suffer from such a horrible disease as cancer and they want to help as many people as they can.
